One of my most important jobs is helping San Diegans navigate the federal bureaucracy. We can help cut through red tape to get San Diegans answers and the benefits they have earned. If you can't get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, my District Office staff may be able to help resolve a problem or get you the information you need. While we cannot guarantee you a favorable outcome, we will do our best to help you receive a fair and timely response to your problem.

San Diegans living in the 50th Congressional District can contact my District Office at 858-455-5550 for assistance in dealing with federal agencies. If you are experiencing an issue with a federal agency not listed below, please continue to our privacy act waiver for a full list of agencies.

Some federal agencies may require a wet signature in addition to the digital form linked below. A member of our staff will contact you if a wet signature is needed to process your request.

If the person who needs assistance is under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must fill out the form with their own information. The minor's information can be included in the description of the privacy act waiver.

NOTE: Submitting multiple request forms for the same case may complicate our ability to assist you in a timely manner. Please submit only one Privacy Act Waiver per inquiry.

Notice on Immigration Casework Delays

Our office is currently experiencing a significant increase in requests for assistance with immigration matters. Over the past several weeks, our active caseload has risen to approximately 115 cases, the highest level since Rep. Peters took office.

Due to this volume, those seeking assistance should expect an initial response from us within approximately 10 business days after submitting a request. We ask that you wait to follow up until you have been contacted, so our team can review each case as efficiently as possible.

Please note the following guidelines:

  • Our office is generally unable to assist with expedite requests for employment authorization (Form I-765), except in limited circumstances, such as for individuals working in the medical field. Others may submit expedite requests directly to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • We are not able to assist with DACA-related work permit requests when a renewal application is already pending.
  • In most cases, our office can only make an inquiry once a case is outside of standard USCIS processing times.
  • If you believe you qualify for an expedite, you should first submit that request directly to USCIS with supporting documentation.

If our office submits an inquiry on your behalf, USCIS may take up to 60 days to respond to us before we are permitted to follow up again.

While our office cannot influence adjudication outcomes or guarantee expedited processing, we will review every request and determine whether assistance is possible within the scope of our authority. If we are unable to assist, we will provide information on next steps where available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.
