Congressman Peters’ Statement on the Budget Agreement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement on the bipartisan budget agreement reached by Rep. Paul Ryan (WI-01) and Senator Patty Murray (WA) late this evening:

“I cannot commit my support without seeing the agreement in detail, but at least it’s a sign the parties are working together to find common ground. And while I don’t know if it goes far enough, any relief from the foolish sequester approach is a step in the right direction. I look forward to a hearty debate over the details; that’s the job we were sent here to do and I call on Speaker Boehner to keep the House in session until we finish it. I was an early supporter of No Budget, No Pay, and today I urge the Speaker -- No Budget, No Vacation.”
