Community Project Funding

The House Appropriations Committee has officially published its FY27 community project funding (CPF) guidance and Rep. Peters' office is now accepting requests here. We encourage you to submit your requests as quickly as possible through this form. Requests must be formally submitted for our office to consider them. As in previous years, the office will only accept CPF requests from government agencies and public entities like public universities, colleges, and public school districts.

Listed below are the funding requests for important community projects in California's 50th congressional district that Rep. Peters has submitted to the Appropriations Committee. The projects are listed in no particular order.

SD CoastalWATCH — Coastal Air and Water Quality Monitoring, Early Warning, and Health Protection System for the Tijuana River Corridor

$1,800,000

This request will fund the purchase of a mobile van, necessary research-grade equipment, and sensors needed to sustain and expand a larger phase of UC San Diego's multi-year coastal monitoring effort to determine how far air and water pollution from the Tijuana River Valley travels.

Repetition Rate High Powered Laser for Fusion Energy

This project will fund the purchase of a repetition rate high powered laser that will be used to discover new materials and technologies to advance commercial fusion energy.

Port of San Diego Emergency Notification System

3380 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

This project will fund hardware to integrate with and update the existing Emergency Notification System at several sites across Port property including: the Broadway & B Street Piers terminals, Port Administration Building, Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal and the Port Operations Center.

North San Diego County Scientific Workforce Development 6G and Autonomous Systems Initiative

This project will fund the purchase of equipment to help establish an integrated 6G Communications and Autonomous Systems Workforce Laboratory for electrical, computer, and software engineering students.

San Diego Police Department Vehicle Replacement

This project will fund the purchase of new vehicles used by law enforcement officers to replace an existing fleet of vehicles, which require constant maintenance and undermines public safety.
