SAN DIEGO – Today, Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) held a virtual event to congratulate 33 high school students from the 52nd District who were nominated to attend our nation’s military service academies.

Each year, Rep. Peters has the distinct honor of recommending a group of outstanding young individuals to serve in our service academies - the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy. The nomination makes them eligible to be selected for a fully-funded education with one academy, with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for at least five years after graduating.

"The opportunity to nominate students to our country's military academies is one of the most rewarding duties I have as a member of Congress," Rep. Peters said. "These students have already earned a reputation as young leaders in their communities throughout my district, and now they’re well on their way to become the future leaders of our Armed Forces."

The highly qualified young men and women were selected after applying and being interviewed by Rep. Peters' independent Service Academy Nomination Board. Below is a list of this year’s nominees:
