Rep. Scott Peters Celebrates 2025 Service Academy Nominations

San Diego, CA — On February 17th, Rep. Scott Peters (CA-50) hosted a reception to honor 31 students from the 50th congressional district who received nominations to attend U.S. Military Academy West Point, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
These students applied for a nomination from Rep. Peters’ office in the fall of 2025 and were selected after a thorough interview process with the Service Academy Nominations Board that Rep. Peters’ office convened. Graduates of service academies are required to serve a minimum of five years in the military.
“Nominating bright and promising young people to attend our nation’s prestigious service academies is one of my favorite duties as a Member of Congress,” said Rep. Scott Peters. “These students not only have excellent academic achievements, but they also have impressive records of leadership, community service, and extracurricular participation. San Diego's military and veteran’s history is an integral part of who we are as a city and community – and I know these future members of our Armed Forces will carry on this legacy with bravery and determination.”
Students are from the following high schools (# of students per school): Point Loma High School (2), Francis Parker High School (2), Poway High School (1), Mission Bay High School (1), Mission Hills High School (4), Westview High School (2), The Bishop's School (1), Pacific Ridge High School (1), Mt. Everest Academy (1), Cathedral Catholic High School (2), Coronado High School (4), Saint Augustine High School (1), Canyon Crest Academy (3), Del Norte High School (1), Torrey Pines High School (2), Rancho Bernardo High School (2), German International School, Boston (1)
