WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement regarding tonight’s passage of another continuing resolution to keep the government funded through March 11 as House and Senate members continue to finalize the Fiscal Year 2022 spending package:
“Here we are, almost halfway through Fiscal Year 2022, and we’re once again forced to approve a continuing resolution to avert a shutdown. This short-term spending fix undermines our national security, delays federal procurement projects to ease supply chain bottlenecks, and hurts our researchers who depend on new grant funding. Much of the transformational spending we authorized last year to enhance America’s infrastructure and tackle inflation, like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, can’t get to our communities until we pass a final package. Congress must do its job and expeditiously approve a long-term solution to fund the government so we can finally deliver these investments nationwide.”
