SAN DIEGO – Today, Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) issued this statement after the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol held its last public meeting and released an executive summary of its final report:

“I supported establishing this bipartisan committee because the American people have a right to know what led to the attack on the Capitol on January 6th, how it occurred, and what it means for our democracy. I thank Chair Bennie Thompson, Vice Chair Liz Cheney and the Members of the Select Committee for their historic work. Their service is a shining example of how an investigation of this scale should be carried out.

“The professionalism and ethics of this investigation, as well as the details uncovered, will stand the test of time. I respect the committee’s findings and criminal referrals of former President Trump in pursuit of justice and the truth.”
