Congressman Peters’ Statement on the Mayoral Transition

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Peters released the following statement regarding the transition of mayoral duties to current City Council President Todd Gloria:

“With the resignation of the mayor, today we begin a transition in leadership in San Diego.  This is an appropriate time to thank our City Council, City Attorney, Chief Operating Officer and all of our dedicated city employees for their work to do our City's business over the past few weeks of tumult and distraction.  I also join all San Diegans in pledging my best wishes for Todd Gloria as he takes over the reins as interim Mayor.  Our city is fortunate to have Todd's steady hand and dedicated leadership to keep us moving forward in these next months.  Todd will need every San Diegan's support in this important role, and he will certainly have mine.”
