Dear Friend, The president announced plans to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which allows immigrants brought to the United States as children to live and work in the United States without fear of deportation. America is founded on the promise that if you work hard and play by the rules, you get a fair shot at building a better a life. Ending DACA betrays our friends, neighbors, and coworkers that are working to build a better life and growing our economy. According to the Migration Policy Institute, San Diego County has the seventh largest number of eligible DACA residents of any county in America: an estimated 38,000 San Diegans are currently eligible for DACA or could be in the future. As your representative, I'd like to know where you stand. Share your thoughts and join my email updates:
Do you think President Trump should maintain the DACA program? Yes, I believe we need to protect DREAMers. No, I believe we should end the program.
Sincerely, |
