Happy Pride Month San Diego!

This weekend is an important reminder of the all milestones the LGBT community has achieved and the work yet to be done.

Click here to watch a Pride Month message from Rep. Peters.

Fighting for Equality

Discrimination has no place in nation as great as ours. I will continue working in Congress to ensure everyone, regardless of who they are or who they love, is treated with the respect they deserve. That's why Congress must pass the Equality Act, which would amend the Civil Rights Act to include protections for LGBT Americans. As your representative, I would like to know where you stand. Share your thoughts and join my email updates:

Should Congress pass the Equality Act and guarantee LGBT individuals the non-discrimination protections already granted to every other American?

Yes.

No.

I'm not sure.

Ensuring Respect for All

Our strength as a nation is measured by our unity and our ability to accept our fellow Americans for who they are, as they are. In the face of intolerance and hate, we will not give up. While there may be hateful rhetoric coming from parts of our government right now, I promise I will fight for LGBT Americans to ensure you can marry who you love, that you don't face harassment at school or at work, and that you have the same equal protections guaranteed to every American.

Cosponsored the LGBT Pride Act, which would improve data collection on anti-LGBT crimes so we can better prevent them or intervene before lives are lost.

Cosponsored the LGBT Data Inclusion Act to make sure LGBT people are counted in the Census and other federal surveys to better understand and meet the needs of the LGBT community.

I hope you will all join me in celebrating. Have a safe and happy Pride Weekend!

Sincerely,
