"We hope they keep the faith and find the strength for the fight ahead," Padilla added. "Our hearts are with you."
Padilla's fellow senatorial colleague Adam Schiff, D-California, wrote on the Bluesky social media platform that he and his wife Eve are thinking of the former president and his family "during this difficult time."
"We are wishing him all the strength he needs as he takes cancer head- on (and) a speedy recovery," Schiff wrote.

We are keeping him, Dr. Biden and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time.
"Joe is a fighter -- and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership," Harris wrote. "We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery."
Former President Barack Obama, under whom Biden served as Vice President for 8 years, said he and former First Lady Michelle are "thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery."
