Balancing the Budget: A Conversation and Budgeting Exercise Event (with the Concord Coalition)
Jul 02 2014
I invite you to join me next Wednesday, July 2nd, for an interactive town hall to address federal budget concerns facing our nation today. Residents of the 52nd Congressional District will have the opportunity to put forth the policies they think best to reduce the nation's deficit and improve the long-term fiscal outlook for the country. I've partnered with The Concord Coalition – a nationwide, non-partisan, grassroots organization advocating generationally responsible fiscal policy – to facilitate an interactive exercise where participants will work together in small groups to discuss several policy alternatives to reduce projected deficits. Participants will discuss discretionary and defense spending, entitlement reform proposals, and taxes. Business owners, professionals, students, seniors and all residents of the district are encouraged to attend. With this event, I hope to engage members of the community as part of my continuing effort to bring San Diegans' ideas and collaborative, problem solving attitude to Congress. To RSVP, please email Shea Benton at Shea.Benton@mail.house.gov or (858) 455-5550 WHO: Congressman Scott Peters and The Concord Coalition WHAT: Balancing the Budget: A Conversation and Budgeting Exercise with Congressman Scott Peters WHEN: 6:00-7:30 pm on Wednesday, July 2nd WHERE: Rancho Bernardo Library, Upstairs Community Room – 17110 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92128
