Diane Bell - Together we will go: When local U.S. Representatives Juan Vargas, Susan Davis and Scott Peters held a Washington, D.C. news conference Thursday to celebrate congressional funding of our San Ysidro border crossing expansion plans, Jerry Sanders, head of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, was with them on the podium.

After stressing the value of having worked together, Peters wondered aloud what regional project Sanders next had in mind for them.

The former San Diego mayor didn’t let the invitation slip by unaddressed. He told reporters our delegation now needs to work on a cross-border railroad and congressional reform.
