Congressman Peters’ Statement on Roe v. Wade 41st Anniversary
SAN DIEGO, CA – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement as the country marks the 41st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, which protects a woman’s right to privacy, and her right to make her own choices about her own health care and her body.
“Women should be free to make their own reproductive choices with the advice of their doctors and without the interference of Washington politicians,” said Peters.
“It’s unbelievable to me that while we have so much to do in Congress – immigration reform, fixing the tax code, creating jobs – House Republicans have made interference in women’s reproductive rights one of their priorities this year. I will continue to fight these efforts and work to protect women’s rights.”
