Congressman Scott Peters Congratulates Finalist for the 2013 Citizen Service Before Self Honors, Father Joe Carroll

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement on Father Joe Carroll being named a finalist for the 2013 Citizen Service Before Self Honors.

“Congratulations to Father Joe for his dedication to better the San Diego community. The Joan Kroc Center, a transitional housing program that Father Joe opened and still oversees almost 30 years later, is a testament to his ingenuity, tenacity and resourcefulness. The Joan Kroc Center provides more than just transitional housing for San Diego’s homeless; they also provide health care, job training, counseling, food and supplies. San Diego is very lucky to have someone so devoted to improving the lives of others.”
