SAN DIEGO – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) announced that he earned a 100% score from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for his legislative record supporting equality for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community. The scorecard gauges support for several non-discrimination bills, the Violence Against Women Act, and marriage equality.

“A 100% pro-equality score for Scott Peters is no surprise. From his first day in Congress, he has been someone that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans can count on, not only to vote right, but to be a leader for equality. The citizens of San Diego have every reason to be proud of their Congressman,” said David Stacy, HRC Government Affairs Director.

“As a longtime advocate for full equality – including marriage equality – I am proud to earn a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign,” Rep. Peters said. “Despite significant progress toward equality in recent years, there is still work to be done. I will continue to support legislation that ends discrimination and improves life for LGBT Americans of every age in every community.”
