Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) hosted a press conference at EvoNexus, an incubator for startup companies located in Downtown San Diego, where he joined with representatives from the City of San Diego, the County of San Diego, and Jerry Sanders from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce who thanked the congressman for his efforts to honor the late Duane Roth and highlight innovation. Also among those present in announcing the creation of a National Entrepreneurs’ Day were Nathan Fletcher from Qualcomm, and Ted Roth, Duane’s brother. The conference honored the late Duane Roth’s contributions to San Diego’s burgeoning innovation economy.

Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement remembering the ten-year anniversary of the Cedar Fire that devastated several communities in San Diego, including Scripps Ranch, Tierrasanta, and other areas now in the 52nd District. During the fire, Congressman Peters was a San Diego City Councilmember for District 1.

Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority announced that the Department of Transportation has awarded more than $22 million in competitive grants to San Diego International Airport. The grants are to be used for reducing aircraft emissions, improving ramp drainage, and continuing area residential noise mitigation projects.
