Congressman and La Jolla resident Scott Peters (D-52) reintroduced the Community Post Office Relocation Act with Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-53) Thursday, March 7. The bill is a slightly updated version of legislation introduced by Davis during the previous Congress.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. House today voted 286-138 to approve the LGBT-inclusive Violence Against Women Act reauthorization bill.
The Senate has already passed the bill, 78-22, and President Barack Obama will sign it.
Republicans had stonewalled the bill for weeks, trying to remove protections for LGBT Americans and immigrants, among others.
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed an expansion of the 1994 Violence Against Women Act that had been stalled for months over partisan wrangling.
