Dear Friend,
The month of November is a time to reflect and give thanks. Therefore, it's the perfect time to honor the service and sacrifice of our servicemembers and their families.

Military Family Month recognizes the steadfast and invaluable service of military families across the country. The San Diego region is home to approximately 143,000 active military personnel and their families. A proud military town, we understand that our servicemembers do not serve alone.
 This year, I introduced the Sergeant Daniel Somers Network of Support Act, which would create a network of support so family members and loved ones can learn about the rigors, challenges, and needs associated with military service and therefore, better support their servicemember.
This bill is just one way we can support our military community in San Diego, across the country, and around the world.

Military families embody the best qualities of our country. Their commitment to our nation is something we will never be able to repay, but we can and must continue to secure the resources and support America’s veterans, troops, and military families have earned through their service.
Please join me in saluting our nation’s military families.
